From May 21 to 26, 2023 (local time), SID Display Week 2023, the most influential event in the global display industry, kicked off at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California, USA. Visionox, as a representative of China's emerging display industry, received an invitation to participate in the event and brought innovative AMOLED technologies and applications for the future, including innovative technologies, such as metal mask-free RGB self-alignment pixelization technology - Visionox intelligent Pixelization (ViP), 240Hz+ ultra-high refresh rate technology, ultimate full-round narrow bezel solution, dual-band dual-polarized 5G millimeter-wave AoD (Antenna-on-Display) , and innovative applications, such as portable rollable laptops, visual portable medical kits, and transparent car displays. These were exhibited overseas for the first time and attracted wide attention from the audience. Dr. Yang Yubin, Vice President of Visionox, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Visionox's technical experts were also invited to deliver speeches on ViP technology and 5G AoD (Antenna-on-Display) .

Visionox always practices independent innovation, constantly promotes technological innovation and iteration, and boosts the upgrading and development of the AMOLED display industry toward better performance, larger size, and higher value.
Make Innovations and Stimulate New Drivers of Industrial Growth
For half a century, SID DW has witnessed the rapid development of the display industry over the past decades, from CRT, LCD, to OLED. Nowadays, AMOLED has occupied half of the small-sized application market as medium- and large-sized applications are becoming a new highland for competition in the display industry.
At the exhibition, Visionox released its ViP technology overseas for the first time while exhibiting a medium-sized foldable innovative terminal based on this technology. Following the global debut on May 9, when it showcased its medium-sized two-way dynamic bending flexible AMOLED samples based on ViP technology, Visionox displayed a flexible terminal that can be folded with a bending radius of only 2mm at this exhibition.
ViP technology features no FMM (Fine Metal Mask), independent pixels, and high precision, which increases the effective light-emitting area (aperture ratio) of AMOLED from the traditional 29% to 69%* and pushes pixel density to more than 1,700ppi*. When paired with Visionox's Tandem stacked devices, ViP could result in six times the lifespan, or four times the brightness, of standard FMM AMOLEDs.
As a photolithography-based pixel patterning technology designed, developed, and mass-produced independently by Visionox, ViP solves FMM AMOLED technology limitations on display size, resolution, and performance, offering an upgraded solution for mass production of AMOLED with ultra-high performance, full-size coverage, and agile delivery. This will promote the development of the AMOLED industry to the next level. In 2022, Visionox began the construction of a ViP technology mass production line at its industrial base in Hefei as mass production is imminent.
Continuously Iterate Technologies Toward New Levels
As the era of Display of Everything approaches at a faster speed, people have higher performance requirements for displays as carriers that transmit information. Also, offering higher image quality, lower power consumption, more comprehensive display, and more integrated features has become a basic need.
In the technological innovation exhibition area, Visionox launched the world's first AMOLED mobile phone screen with a 240Hz+ high refresh rate and successfully lit up the 265Hz screen equipped with higher-order ICs, achieving an ultra-high refresh rate of over 300Hz. Once again, Visionox leads the world in the high refresh rates for AMOLED mobile phone screens.
The urgent problem remains how to meet higher performance demands and reduce power consumption. At the exhibition, Visionox showcased low-power solutions, such as EnV ALT low-frequency LTPS, high-performance optical extraction technology (HLEMS), and a VM7 device system. These technologies and systems will bring a power efficiency improvement of at least 10%.
Based on more comprehensive display requirements, Visionox showcased ultra-narrow bezel, ultimate full-round narrow bezel, and ultimate zero-bezel solutions for wearables, among which the ultimate zero-bezel solution breaks through the technological limit to build the near-zero-bezel display (less than 0.5mm) with a bending radius of 1.0mm in the active area of the panel.
Nowadays, end products are becoming thinner, which requires displays to integrate more functions. Through the new "zero transition area" solution, Visionox's comprehensive solution of a 3D under-display camera improves the consistency of the primary and secondary displays while significantly reducing Mura at low grayscales without additional costs. In addition, Visionox also demonstrated integrated solutions, such as optical fingerprint technology and dual-band dual-polarized 5G millimeter-wave AoD (Antenna-on-Display) .
Cross-border Integration, Expanding New Space for Applications
Under the background of economic globalization, the trend of industry integration is becoming more prominent. Integration means enhancing innovation and competitiveness, while cross-border means expanding the space for development. In emerging displays, Visionox has been developing displays across borders and in more fields, based on its advantages, such as performance improvement and changeable form.
In the innovative application exhibition area, Visionox presented a variety of innovative applications for future living and working scenarios. For example, a 14-inch portable rollable laptop can be rolled up for storage, freeing itself from the laptop stereotype. Also, thanks to flexible AMOLED displays, the laptop is successfully "slimmed down". As a result, when stored, the entire laptop has a diameter of only 64mm, similar to a 500ml bottle of water. A lighter, smaller laptop makes us more comfortable while studying or working.
To improve the driving experience, Visionox presented a transparent onboard application with a transmittance of 48%, allowing a seamless transition between display and lighting requirements. In the future era of intelligent driving, more displays will witness applications inside and outside the car to provide users with a better driving experience with a more comfortable third space.
In addition, Visionox showcased innovative applications of AMOLEDs in the medical field - visual portable medical kits; innovative applications based on daily office work - rollable projection screens with the size of a marker pen when stored and vehicle-mounted innovative applications, such as Smart Car Key and flexible AMOLED automotive human-computer interaction (HMI) solution. All of these provide new inspirations for the development of end products.
In the future, Visionox will continue to be committed to innovation and, driven by its "willingness to innovate, courage to innovate, and ability to innovate", promote the rapid transformation and implementation of innovative technologies. By doing so, it aims to deliver more and better visual experiences to consumers. Meanwhile, Visionox will continue to pursue integrated innovation in collaboration with the industry chain, to advance China's emerging display industry toward high-quality development, contributing to China's sci-tech self-reliance and self-strengthening at higher levels.
